MILKY WAY WITH AURORA TINTS by JO BOYD
GRADE - ACCEPTANCE
Unfortunately this image has been taken over by the figures on the wharf. And the fact that they do not appear to be concentrating on sky and it's 'awe' . Remembering that objects within a frame that call for attention are.
Firstly... an area of significant contrast,
Two.. The human form
Three... The colour red.
Four... Strong Geometrical shapes
Five... Writing or lettering.
Not always, necessarily in that order, because of size and placement within the frame. in this image it is the are of greatest contrast, the human figures, and the strong geometrical shapes, that draw the viewers attention away from the vastness of the sky, and the subtlety of the aurora colours, which require enhancement to, and not distraction from, This is an image that could have been enhanced by using an HDR technique. To much reduce the exposure on the wharf.
