This does have an abstract quality about it, but to me, it also has contextual information,
which give obvious clues to what the elements of this image are – the surrounding landscape, for instance. I think that if you were to make this a “portrait style” image (cutting off a third of it from each side), then you might be getting closer to satisfying the meaning of the set subject. I like your idea though.
