ROAD TO NOWHERE by ALISON METHERELL
GRADE - ACCEPTANCE
There is some good colour here, and it does feel like the middle of nowhere even before going down the road. However, as a satisfying picture I suggest some strong cropping. Firstly, from the top to remove half the sky. Then from the left 3/4 way to the stone, and from the right to remove the dark tussock on the bottom margin. That then makes the road much more important, and the white parallelogram of snow the focal point. Note how the cloud line is almost a mirror image of the road. Cropping accentuates that.
