ENTER 2015! by VAL POHIO; Grade: Merit
Well handled slow shutter speed of fireworks or something similar giving a nice abstract effect, Not sure if you need all of the negative space on the right but its well done. Possible not enough in the image to provide longevity
THE CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE by PHIL BLAKELY; Grade: Honours
Lovely shot of the wedding ring and glasses, slightly too tightly cropped with the left hand glass a bit too close to the edge. Good depth of field and the monochrome treatment works well
PARTY BLOWERS by LARA MOSS; Grade: Merit
Nice idea, well exposed and I like the look the young lad is giving. You've got lots of space at the top of the frame but cropped off the elbows.
BRIDAL PARTY by JO BOYD; Grade: Acceptance
Nice candid wedding shot, nicely exposed, I'm guessing the groom is on the right as he's the one with the flower..but he's also got a strap around his should which you should have asked him to remove. To my mind the vignette hasn't worked and a subtle dark vignette may have worked better
AT LAST ITS RAINED by SANDRA DAN; Grade: Non Acceptance
Three cute kids swimming but I'm not sure I get the connection with the rain in the title, perhaps it is but its hard to tell. You were there and presumably know it was raining but that's really the only clue. Be careful of these disconnects between the image and the title. Anyway, love the low ?evening light. Faces are very noisy and there's a strong rim around the boy on the right indicating quite a bit of oversharpening.
CELEBRATION by PHILIP GREEN; Grade: Acceptance
I wrestled with this one, the post processing has been used to good effect but you are let down by being visible in the shot and the out of focus foreground hands distract as does the bullet hole bottom right. Just snuck through.
CELEBRATION OF SUMMER by MARTIN KOHN; Grade: Non Acceptance
Theres a lot of potential here but this looks like its been scanned in from a dodgy old slide & possibly then tweaked a bit, the hair at the top is definitely a distraction and there's an overall softness and colour cast. Perhaps this was deliberate but for me at least it hasn't worked.
HAPPY-NEW-YEAR by PETER BARBER; Grade: Acceptance
Pleasant candid portrait of this subject enjoying a drink, good use of natural light.
I HAVE ARRIVED by CATHERINE ANSELL; Grade: Acceptance
Lots of potential here not quite developed, the bub's asleep so plenty of time to compose or wait for the opportunity, slightly soft
SARAH by YVONNE ASSIE; Grade: Acceptance
Nicely exposed short of this bride, be careful with your cropping as the image would have been improved if you can included all of the hair and the hand, slightly under exposed and a tweak of the shadows slider in your processing software would have helped.
WE DO!!!! by DANIELA SCHNEIDER; Grade: Merit
Lovely shot, like the off centre placement and the balance provided by the window, slight colour cast easily fixed, take care with placement of subjects, the post behind the bride is jarring
