2013 APRIL SET SUBJECT "COLOURFUL" - queenstownphotographyclub

"AUTUMN HUES" by JO BOYD; Grade: Accepted.
If I’m not mistaken this is the same tree that was the subject in “hills on fire” the trees on
the hill all look good and colourful but the dominant element is the girl walking and her red
scarf and so its a pity that she’s not quite sharp. You’re shooting with a 7D with an ISO of
160, f5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second which has given you good exposure
but at the expense of sharpness. The 7D is very capable at high ISO’s and on a day like
this I would have pushed it to ISO 400, aperture to f/8 which is close to the sweet spot of
the 24-70mm f2.8 lens and a shutter speed of 1/250th of a second.
